Family Retro Movie Night - or, What to do with your DVD collection

We don't own that many movies compared to some families. What we have are mostly DVD copies of the movies the boys wore the VCR tapes of out and movies that we liked enough to watch over and over.

I am on a spring cleaning/decluttering spree and one of the things I have been thinking about tackling is the movie drawer. I posted this picture on Facebook and asked my friends the following question: "How did you decided which DVDs to keep and which ones to let go of? I have a drawer full of DVDs and most of them haven't been watched in years. They don't really take up much room, but I feel like a lot of them could go to houses where they would be watched."

After a good bit of discussion, I have decided that I just can't part with any of them. Ok, there are a few that I could part with, but for the most part, this drawer represents our family.

So... to get some use out of them, I have decided that once a month we will have Family Retro Movie Night! Sometimes we will invite friends to watch with us, sometimes it will just be us. It is a mandatory night for our family, and I think it will be a lot of fun!

When I plan the first night, I will share the details.
